JIKELEZA LODGE is an International Backpackers Hostel. You'll find it safe clean and comfortable offering a true African experience and South African hospitality. It is designed by travellers for travellers to meet in a home away from home atmosphere. The hostel has a reputation for making you feel welcome and is enthusiastically run by the owners and their manager. The old building with all its gleaming wood and warm, atmospheric charm is a stones throw or a quick stomp away from inexpensive and traditional African restaurants, night spots, jazz clubs, pubs, post office, banks, antique shops, 24 hour grocery shopping and flea markets. The owners are fanatical about cleanliness and all the staff are friendly and go out of their way to help you.

JIKELEZA LODGE offers you a variety of accommodation. There are single rooms, double rooms (Double bed) and twin rooms (2 single beds), 3, 4 and 5 bed family/group rooms, dorms and camping. The hostel is never crowded and their dorms only have a maximum of 7 beds and at times are smaller. The dorms are mixed, both male and female, and may not be suitable for some local holiday makers who are not conversant with travelling etiquette. The kitchen is fully fitted so that you can whip up a quick meal or cook up a storm.

JIKELEZA LODGE is set right in the heart of the old historical Port Elizabeth city and right on the Donkin Heritage walking trail. Here you can walk amongst the many old buildings of yesterday year marveling at the fine architecture and history of the time. If traveling is getting you down then you can relax in their gardens. Kings Beach Backpackers - Hostel

We are situated in the suburb of Humewood opposite Kings Beach which is the first beach from the City. We are 150 m away from the beach and Windermere Road is the second road off the main Beach Road. Our suburb is quiet and secure and in safe walking distance to many of the restaurants, pubs, clubs on our beachfront. We are the closest hostel in Port Elizabeth to the Boardwalk/Casino complex.
A 5 min walk down to Beach Road takes you to our Bayworld complex comprising the main Museum, Oceanarium and Dolphinarium

Kings Beach Backpackers offers their guests clean, comfortable and friendly accommodation right on Port Elizabeth?s Beachfront. We have 4 dormitory rooms with three double bunks accommodating 6 people to a room; so in total we have 24 dorm beds.

Each bed is fitted with a bottom sheet, pillow+case and a rolled up blanket at the end of the bed. We do have extra linen and blankets but for large groups our guests bring their own sleeping bags/duvets. We have two double rooms sharing bathrooms and these rooms are fitted out with full linen. We have a twin room comprising two beds also with linen supplied and sharing bathrooms. Our ensuite double room is also a family room with 2 x double beds ? all fitted with linen.

We arrange outings to Kraggakamma Game park and also to Seaview Lion Park. We offer township tours which introduce our visitors to the local people and a different culture; visit schools, artists, Nelson Mandela museum, shebeens (taverns) Activities such as sandboarding, seakyaking, boat cruises to St. Croix and Bird Islands for whale, dolphin and penguin viewing can be arranged.
